Kieth or Keir is Starmer the right man for the Job?

By Felix Von Der Geest Currently #starmerout is trending on twitter, currently I'm torn, I hear what people are saying, the Tories have an open goal, the Coronavirus pandemic has been disastrously managed by Boris and his government, now is the time for Keir to hold a Press conference or a big interview and rip into the tories about the handling of the pandemic and Labour should be up in the polls and they aren't.

But now is the time for Labour to unite, The Tories are in power for the next 4 years and fighting within the labour party is just going to help them win in 2024. In fact the reason labour lost in 2019 so badly was in part due to the fighting within the labour party on brexit. I think now is a vital time for labour, we are at a time when The Tories could be come the main party in the UK. The only way Labour are going to win in 2024 is if the party unites and comes together. We saw what happens when a party unites behind one candidate in America with Joe Biden. I see people complaining about him writing in the daily mail , but it's like they were not watching the 2019 election, the tories won mainly brexit voters and the daily mail supported brexit and the tories. Writing in the mail gives Keir a chance to speak to his target vote, he needs to at least try and win back those voters.. I think the argument he is a "tory in disguise" is a ridiculous one. We are stuck with the worst government since thatcher and you are more focused on attacking a labour leader, to me that makes no sense, Kier starmer is better than boris and for me it is that simple. It boils down to wether getting Kier starmer out is more important that getting Boris out. If Labour lost in 2024 It would be 18 years of a tory government and surely all labour voters can agree, a centrist is better than 18 years without a labour government!

In conclusion I do understand the people tweeting #starmerout but for me the Labour party as a whole is bigger and more important than the leader, at heart Labour is still a socialist party and has plenty of left wing figureheads.
